Join special guest Jodie Scarrow as she guides you through a yoga class designed to improve your recovery and get you back into rehearsals stronger than ever.   Jodie Scarrow is an airline pilot, yoga teacher and retired dancer from Hamilton, ON. She danced competitively from the age of 7 until 22 - dancing through her university degree, where she was co-captain of the University of Waterloo Dance Team. Dance shaped Jodie’s world, and sparked her love for travel - taking her to Germany, many different American states, and all across Canada for various competitions and performances. Jodie attended the National Ballet School of Canada, competed at YAGP, danced with the Radio City Rockettes and was commonly found touring around Ontario assisting teachers at summer intensives. Jodie retired at age 22 and became a commercial pilot. Jodie first turned to yoga as a means to help her with the retirement process from dance - a way to stay active and continue to use her flexibility and strength that she took years to develop for dance. She then later became more heavily reliant on yoga during her training to become a 737 pilot as a stress management technique. Already years deep into her personal yoga practice, Jodie saw the mental benefits of yoga for dancers long before she could articulate the magic that happens for dancers on the mat. During a layoff from flying she became a registered yoga teacher specializing in power vinyasa - a style that most dancers are naturally drawn to.  Jodie has taught yoga at multiple different yoga studios, dance studios, summer intensive and private events.
