I love my Dancer-Fitness community because they care about their dancers SO MUCH and because of that, they shoot me emails all the time with the BEST questions! One of my favorites this month: Can you help us with a warm up program that hits everything and doesn’t take a really long time (if that exists)? YES! It does exist and it’s way more effective than a few jumping jacks and crunches. To help reduce injuries and ensure your dancers are properly warmed up I would devote at least 20 -30 minutes to each practice for warm up and stretch.
Dynamic Warm Up:
Stretch like you normally do, but hit these points:
Finishing The Warm Up:
Take these additional 6 – 10 minutes for a targeted warm up that goes beyond just making your dancers warmer than when they walked in the door. It’s not a lot of time but it’s going to help your dancers fire the correct muscles in practice so they can jump higher, move quicker and have more stability. Not sure where to start?
It can be a little overwhelming but I have full training plans created and ready for you to print, download or pull up in your class on any device. Some of the most popular plans are Turns and core Turn out Jump power Turn technique Booty Burn
Access to the plans is available to all Dancer-Fitness.com members and I’d love to have you join our community.
We also have an amazing facebook community just for members so I can help you with individual dancers, skills or simply introducing fitness to your team.
Feel free to sign up or reach out if you have questions before jumping in. Now that we’ve got your warm up planned, let’s move on to jumps and leaps! Grab a free copy of |
